26.2 km
Ok, time to sit in the ski for race simulation...me, Eva and Rich. 13 km into the head wind and 13 km back. Steady pacing and some remount pracitce. San Fran can get scarey so we have to be prepared.
Largest group ever
Pat, Noah, Rich, Eva, Cliff, Kathy, Christina, Rami, Duncan and DeAnne...out to the harbor entrance and triangle around the bell buoy X 5. Massive boat traffic and left over big swell made for some interesting mish mash practice.
West Regional Lifeguard Champs
Weekend of racing with Hayden and Reece in the Junior Lifeguard regionals. Reece is the runner, Hayden is the swimmer.
The surf was huge. Then Saturday the senior regionals where Patrick came First in the Masters(45 and up) Paddleboard and Ironman and Second in the ski and SECOND in the open iron man. Pat was really happy with this result as he does not do any swim training at all.

Rich Sprout, Hayden and Patrick..team Ocean Paddlesports

Patrick and Rich both use the Titan Surf Llifesaving spec ski from Custom Kayaks. Pat came 4th and Rich was 6th in the open ski race. Big surf , lots of fun.
4 x 7’ in ocean to lifeguard training
big boys with little ropes
Just me today with Rich the speester and Noah the grinder. 1 hour steady at 70% with 100% ups every 5' for 30". boys had to use rope around their boats so I could keep up and not complain too much.
Pat on his way to Blackburn Challenge
While Pat flys to Boston, Eva and I did a good 4 sets of 5', 3', 1'. I used my new JANTEX gamma small. Loved it! I have 2 more, so any gal types, this is the paddle! Split shaft, stiff.
recovery day
5 x 10' pieces, 70% to recover from yesterday. Cliff, Rich, me and KC. Nice one!! Beautiful day.
20 km Sunday
Rami, Pat, KC, Cliff, Eva, Christina and I paddled 6 x 10' ocean and bay. Super workout!
Proper workout
Welcome back Eva from Sweden, Robin from SF...then me and Pat and KC.
1x 5', 2 x 4', 3 x 3', 4 x 2', 5 x 1' and 6 x 30" 1 minute between pieces, 2 minutes between sets. this is a really good hard work out. intensitites go up and the time goes down.
Happy 4th of July
Pat wanted to get a good 20km in today so we can eat alot of hamburgers..so Christina and I went double to push him a bit. We killed him in the first 30 minutes of flat, killed him in the small downwind and died on the 30 minutes home.
