Ocean slop today
Thanks to Mike Murph for coming down, Ed and Eva. 3 x4', 4 x 3' and 5 x2' with some slop chip chop in the ocean.
Malibu to MDR
I was looking forward to racing this weekend with Pat in the double. There were quite a few doubles, with Eva and Sean, Eric Smith and partner, Rami and his new wife Krista (4 time Kayak World Champion)..but as it turned out we got to paddle back together, no race due to fog. 25.5km for fun. Rich and Philippe and Rami and Krista and Pat and I all hammered back and forth for 2 hours. Oh well, a good workout.
Hard Intervals
Philippe, Rich, Pat, De, Sean and Bruce today...flat water so hard workout with 2 x 4', 3x 3', 4 x 2', 5 x 1' and 6 x 30" 1 minute off between peices, 2 minutes between sets. Killer.
Some great wind the last few days
We have had some terrific downwinds the last few days. The wind and water are cold, but the training is HOT! We are having a blast in the nice West wind that has been blowing...wakling across and doing the loop. We have a new paddler to the group, welcome to Sean..another dang South African. Right now he is unfit and slow as sticks, but he had great techinque and some K1 river paddling experience. I say by summer he will be killing me and Eva and hanging onto Pats and Richs wash. Some ole story with the new boys.....we don't get to be fastest for long.
Dana Point Day
Tough day for Pat not to race has he has been sick. I was well enough to paddle the short course with Hayden, but we didn't win and he was bummed. Shame, he did have fun though.

Reece was in rare form watching the tent and handling the sales. Not sure if he scares aways customers or not, but he is always good for a laugh.
And Danica was a joy to have with us this time. She loved the whole vibe.
