Ocean Paddlesports is a California based dealer of quality ocean racing and recreational equipment for surfski paddling, paddleboarding, Surf Life Saving and related sports.
We are the exclusive North American distributor for Fenn Kayaks , makers of renowned Mako surfskis and kayak racing paddles. Along with Custom Kayaks who developed the ICON, Titan and newest addition, Mentor surfski. All our surfskis are designed and tested by accomplished paddlers, not just computers. Our products are used by the top athletes in ocean racing--champions like Barry Lewin,Clint Pretorious, Dawid and Nikki Mocke, Dean Gardiner, Lewis Laughlin and Daryl Bartho. Our products are also for newcomers to the ocean lifestyle. We have pioneered the introduction of affordable equipment suitable for beginning paddlers. DeAnne Hemmens
 DeAnne spent 10 years traveling abroad and competing for the USA Sprint Kayak Team. She is a gold medal winner in the 1995 Pan American Games in Argentina. A member of the 1996 Olympic Sprint Kayak Team, she stroked the K4 and K2 in Atlanta finishing 10th and 15th respectively. She also ocassionally competes in lifesaving events. Winning the National Lifeguard Surfski Championships 2001 in Miami Beach, Florida as one of the highlights. As for her long distance surfski racing, she has won the USA Surfski Championships in San Francisco whenever she has raced it and has completed the Molokai Channel crossing 4 times (2 x double with Patrick, 2x single). read more here...  Patrick a native of South Africa has spent most of his life marathon river paddling (or canoeing as they say in SA) and surf lifesaving (swimming, paddleboard and surfski kayak). After moving to the United States, he trained 10 years with the USA Sprint Kayak Team and competed on the US lifesaving circuit. He has competed in Australia and New Zealand for the USA and continues to win races in the surfski long distance series and in the summer lifesaving competitions. Flat water technique to ocean skills and surf entry. Training and racing tips or fitness tips...Patrick or DeAnne are available for any type of lessons you require. With over 40 years experience between the 2 of them, from the Olympic team to Molokai in double and singles, South Africa World Cups and lifeguard series racing.... Patrick or DeAnne can answer any question you may have from the basis of experience. Private lessons are $60 hour (2 hour minimum.) Group or extended days offered in a package.
