DeAnne Hemmens

DeAnne spent 10 years traveling abroad and competing for the USA Sprint Kayak Team. She is a gold medal winner in the 1995 Pan American Games in Argentina. A member of the 1996 Olympic Sprint Kayak Team, she stroked the K4 and K2 in Atlanta finishing 10th and 15th respectively. She also ocassionally competes in lifesaving events. Winning the National Lifeguard Surfski Championships 2001 in Miami Beach, Florida as one of the highlights. As for her long distance surfski racing, she has won the USA Surfski Championships in San Francisco whenever she has raced it and has completed the Molokai Channel crossing 4 times (2 x double with Patrick, 2x single).
