How to attach a weed deflector
Sat, May 17, 2008
Lightly sand the deflector and the area just in front of the rudder. Make sure rudder will get full rotation so not to knock off the deflector. We use 5' epoxy in the dual tube. This can be purchased at Home depot or other hardware stores. Apply an amount to cover the defletor and press firmly. Wait a few hours before paddling. These stay on well, but big logs or fishing lines can pop them off..but don't worry the epoxy won't pull off the gel coat on most skis(at least the ones we have seen).
How to assemble a 1 piece paddle
Tue, August 01, 2006
Step 1. Determine your paddle length and cut paddle shaft using a hack saw or pipe cutter.
Step2. Sand blade and shaft end (both ends) using 100grit sandpaper (sand enough so that shaft turns a gray color and blade is scuffed up.)
Step 3. Using 5 minute epoxy, glue the right hand shaft into the blade. (apply to shaft and blade.) let dry.
Step 4. Determine angle of blade by rotating the left blade on shaft, then mark with a line.
Step 5. Use 5 minute epoxy again to glue left blade on. Line up with your mark. Let dry.
