14 km
Pat and I back on the water together. 7 x 10' pieces with 2' rest in between. Each of us pulled for 2' on/off in the 10' averaging 13 km/hour. Nice one...but I am not well and this made my decision not to go to Hawaii. Its too much money [...]
Apex Double today
11 km with Patrick in the Custom Kayaks Apex double..mostly flat, some wind chop on the ocean. This will be a good competitor to the Mako XT Double. Nicely built and very comfortable.
Busy week
Not much training going on here, cough won't go away. Spent much of the time selling skis. Most of the Mako Elites are sold, we have a couple fiberglass and vacum bag left, but the response has been amazing. I am evaluating my health as I decide what to do [...]
Mako Elite is here…
Similar specs to the Mako 6 but... More volume at the nose, tail and behind the seat Less rocker Seat is further back Rudder is further forward Seat is 1/4" narrower You have to paddle it to feel the differences..and you will feel the differences. Check out the SurfSki's [...]
13 km again
D, Pat (yea!) and Barry Borm...30' 75% to the ocean, then 4' pieces (again) to walk across. Maybe I can do 4' pieces across the Molokai Channel, seems that's all I am all doing lately. Back on my M6, hacking up greenies from my cough. GO away!
HOT!
D, Noah and Silvio 13 km 4' pieces to bell buoy and back..flat like normal..but HOT weather.... Noah you are ready! Molokai !!!
Mako Elite…very nice!
D alone, 10 km steady on the New Mako Elite....I sold my brand new, out of the container, yellow Mako 6 on Sunday, so I WILL be picking out a Mako Elite to fill that rack.
Rest is good right?
After a week of travel recovery,a few runs, a lesson, a demo day, the container arrival and unloading, I now have a chest cold. Nifty. I should be doing 30km every other day and some intervals. Once the trailer is fully packed and sent to the harbor for the Hawaii [...]

Hawaii State Champs..a shocker for me
28 km roughest conditions I have ever been in..single or double.... not the biggest swell ever, but roughest rebounding chop off Rabbitt Island and Makapu Point....after which surfing(25km winds) the good stuff was tough after getting hammered in the 1st hour. The Hawaiians are awesome in these conditions. I sucked [...]
Hawaii Kai run
D, Ian and Tom Light trade winds..10-15 knts. beautiful little runs, fun easy day, small swell, 12km, 1 hour....nice
another 10 km
No wind, just like home, chip chop 10 km around Waimanalo and Makapu....rainy and warm...winds predicted to pick up later in the week. 5km easy trying to catch every little bump and work it, 5km hard return..average speed for last 5km, 12.5km.
Arrived New York
No custom holds yet. Will get on the train Saturday, April 12. 7-10 days to Costa Mesa ETA April 21. Trailer leaves for Hawaii on the 25th..cutting it close again.
best 10km ever
After days of frustration...best paddle ever. 10 km total in and out through the surf at the point off Kailua..wind has died so no one was sure where or when to paddle.. But there was surf and so the work out was ins and outs..sprint out through the surf to [...]
