Gorge Downwind Week of paddling
With the Hood River being extremely tidal (running upwind), race strategy was critical with many competitors taking different sides of the river to minimise the amount of current they had to paddle against. Jasper Mocke made the most of the conditions and took predominantly a middle line over the latter part of the race to score an emphatic victory over Sean Rice and Dawid Mocke in 3rd. Continuing a white wash for the South African's was Kenny Rice in 4th with Austin Kieffer (USA) in 5th place. For full results check out www.gorgedownwindchamps.com
